Requirement
A leading name in Marine Industry approached us to Design & develop of a Marine Gangway for safe embarkation/disembarkation of a ship for varying degree of inclination from -15 Deg to +65 Deg with jetty as reference.
This demanding task was undertaken with our deep understanding and experience of ship design and operational requirement.
Case study
The detailed design involved arriving at conceptual mechanisms and thereafter selection of materials for the various components.
Geometrical sizes were initial calculated using conventional and classical methods to verify the compliance to statement of requirements.
This was followed by 3D modelling of all elements, verifying assembly requirements, corrosion issue mitigation and correct operation using multi-body dynamics (MBD) to determine the kinematic characteristics of the components.
Design optimisation was through FE analysis and finally provided fabrication drawing and generation of test protocols with jigs and fixtures.
